Glorious Glimpse

Good Sunday Morning!  Welcome to my Glorious Glimpse for the Christian Paper Craft's Design Delights Gallery!  Don't forget that the gallery opens tomorrow and is stuffed full of back to school ideas!
If you are a cupcake fan like my, you have probably stumbled across cupcake decorations in the stores and noticed the high prices for what seems like not so high quality.  Especially when they are facing the thoughts of...the garbage can after being used!  Why not do like I did, and simply make your own?

Using the PaperTreyInk set Tag It's #6 along with my handy dandy Marvy scalloped punch and some toothpicks and tape, voila - there little pretties to adorn the tops of the cupcakes for the most precious Sunday School kiddos in  the world!

Don't forget, the whole gallery will be revealed tomorrow at Christian Paper Crafts!  Are you a memeber?

Campbell's Soup Kind of Friday

Whew!  Can you believe Friday is finally here?  I'm sure excited about it!  Hopefully the snow will hold off and we will get to have church Sunday!  *insert super happy face*
Today's Fun on Friday at Christian Paper Crafts inspired my litte card below, along with the sketch challenge from Card Patterns!  These old "Campbell's Soup Kids" (SU! Vintage Valentine) are some of mine and Abby's favorite images!  Oh - PaperTreyInk release is tonight at midnight!  I can't wait to "get my stamp on"!
(Paper: PaperTreyInk, BoBunny; Image: Stampin Up, PaperTreyInk - Background Basics-Text Style; Ink: Momento, Copics; Misc: ribbon, lace, button, jute, cuttlebug swiss dots, marvy scallop punch)

Have a wonderful day!

Two Ways to Tuesday

When I saw Gloria's sketch over at Christian Paper Crafts, I immediately knew what I wanted to created, it was just which colors to use that was my problem...  So, I chose both!  Same layout, basically the same elements, just 2 different cards with different color schemes! First up, you'll see our "earth tones"...  This card is done with brown and naturals!  Gotta love that PTI Heartprints set, I think it is one of my most used sets!

Next is still done with PTI products, but I changed the browns and naturals to pink and blacks!  The pink lace *was* white, but ended up getting some love spritzed on it from a Glimmer Mist bottle!  :o)
Have a spectacular Tuesday!

Sweet....

That's what today is! Friday's are almost always sweet, but today I get to FINALLY tell you that I will be on the Design Team for Deedee's Digis! :o) If you've never tried digi's, Deedee's gives out a freebie weekly, what easier way than that to try it out and see if you like it!!
Over at Christian Paper Crafts today, our Fun on Friday challenge is masculine themed! Mine of course is a Father's Day card since I am totally stumped at what to get for my dad this year...

For this card, I drug Tractor Time off of the shelf and went from there. Come to think of it, I'm pretty sure all of my cards for dad have tractors on them... The papers are from PaperTreyInk with the exception of the designer green paper, and it was actually in the left over pile! Some cuttlebug action and jute tied it up! The fabulous sketch is from the Sweet Spot this week :o) Stampin Sisters in Christ and A Crafty Little Place are also both all about dad for their challenges this week!

Have a fabulous Friday!

Blessed

How appropriate that Ang's keyword for Bible Verse Thursday today at Christian Paper Crafts is blessings when I have been thinking lately of just how blessed I truly am. Everything may not be exactly like I would like it to be, but it could sure be a lot worse! Yesterday evening I was having a cruddy time, nothing would go right and I just got mouthy {nothing bad, just sassy and snappy ;) } I posted on FaceBook that although I was in an awful mood I considered myself blessed that I have a Savior that loves me and the American soldier to defend my freedom! That in itself is enough to be blessed! If you are familiar with FB, you know people can "like" your status, so I was very honored when Sargent Hotelling of the US Army "liked" my status! I'm here where I'm free and people like him defend the freedom that God gave us, like I said...blessed!
So, there you have it! I decided to make an all out girly card that simply has the word "blessings" on it, 'cause this girly girl is truly blessed! Paper by PaperTreyInk, Stamps from Unity KOM, Ink SU Pink Passion, Brown Zig Marker, lace, Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist: Cotton Candy

Do you see your blessings all around you today? You know the "not so obvious ones"!

God Bless You,

Dude - I Made Another Boy Card!

Seriously now! I am sooo not your "masculine" go to person, but with little boys on the Prayer shawl list I am having to "suck it up cupcake"!
This is really one of my favorite old stamps from Stampin Up! The great little Frolicking Frogs! I followed the sketch challenge over at Christian Paper Crafts today and used PTI papers and cardstock! A little button and jute made me some sunshine in a land of glimmer mist sky and pond! The little froggie, he's rockin cool since he was coloured with Copics :o) Only the best for froggie since he is swimming toward Stampin Sister's in Christ for the challenge over there this week! A little touch of ribbon made this card my "bestest" attempt at masculine for the Really Reasonable Ribbon challenge! Oh, and look how good that PTI Signature Sentiments fit, really now!
Oh and by the way, I am cleaning out my scrapbook room! Take a look over on my eBay if you are wanting to find some old and retired SU sets for CHEAP! All my auctions are starting at 0.99!

Think...Happy...Thoughts...

That's me when I see/experience Tattered Angels Glimmer mist in any color there is! The stuff is totally addicitve, much like my Copics :o) The two of them together on the desk in my office...bliss!
This little card is a product of the two together!! The Copics couldn't resist the Birdhouses and the Glimmer Mist was just as magical as ever! Love the cute sketch from A Crafty Little Place (Die Cuts R Us) and the button challenge from Digi Doodle Shop! And see that little birdie on the last house there, well he is headed for the Stampin Sister's in Christ Challlenge this week :o)

Supplies: Stampin Up Chocolate Chip c/s, PTI Stamper's Select White c/s, Kraft c/s, PP, Stampin Up Brilliant Blue Ink, Tim Holtz Distress Ink Tea Stain - my fave, Momento Rich Cocoa; Stamps: Unity KOM, PTI Background Basics: Retro and Signature Greetings; Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist - Moonlight and Frost; button; jute.

Happy Sunday! I hope your work week flies by to an amazing weekend! Our Relay for Life is next weekend - we are so excited!

C-O-P-I-C Bingo!!

Filling in Copic color charts leaves me wanting to shout this out loud! Having one color chart to see what colors I have would be awesome enough, but no - I have to have one for each of the four papers I "regularly" use my Copic markers on! And I wonder where the time goes sometime hehehe :o)
Since it's Thursday, that means that it's time for Bible Verse Thursday over at Christian Paper Crafts! Today's keyword - encouragement! I thought this little stamp set from way back was a cutey and had the perfect image - I chose to simply add the scripture reference Matthew 11:28-30 in hopes that the recipient will then look the verses up and read them!
The challenge over at Stampin Sister's in Christ for the week is to use hearts on your card, and I love that these little sweeties just happen to be in one!!
Also, the layout is from the awesome sketch at 2Sketches4You this week!

Stampin Up Vintage Valentine -retired, Copics, jute, prima flower, lace, cuttlebug, tim holtz and momento inks, PTI patterned paper and cardstock
Hope your week is going great and that you are well on your way to a terrific weekend!

Truckin' On through the Work Week

You know, I'm totally girl. I don't care to admit it either! I can deal with shades of blue and green, but chances are, there's some pink thrown in there and definately some bling. So.... this little card was a true challenge!
I took the plunge and made it anyways! I'm not too dissapointed in it either! See, as we give the Prayer Shawls away at church, we are also doing blankets for children who are ill. As I have been making adult and girly cards, I admit the cards for boys have been store bought! (It's okay - I make sure to find out their favorite characters!!)
The stamp set used on here is an oldie from Stampin Up called Little Trucks. I actually purchased this one off of eBay to make a birthday card for my little nephew Cole a few years back! And yes, that's the kind of Aunt I am - I'll buy a whole stamp set for ONE card for the babies :o) The papers are PTI cardstock and Cosmo Cricket the Boyfriend pp line. Making Memories mesh star brads, Tim Holtz distress ink, copics, nestabilities, and jute!! The card is also for the Fun on Friday challenge over at Christian Paper Crafts from last week when we were out of town. One stamp set, two embellishments, and three different pp's!
Have a wonderful wednesday - Half way through the work week!!

Mary

Fairy Dust and June Bugs

I can't believe that June is here already! It seems like Christmas was just the other day, especially since Abby woke me up a couple of nights ago and asked me if it snowed while she was asleep (trust me, at 90+ degrees, nope it didn't happen)! Yes, this is the same sweet girl who will pick up a bug and chase me around the yard with it until she falls down from extreme laughter!
My little lady is loving me coloring with the Copics. Let me tell you, for 3 years old, it is quiet comical to hear her "explain" them! Needless to say, she picked out all the "pinks" for today!
Today's card is based off of Sketch Tuesday over at Christian Paper Crafts!
I used the old Stampin Up Fairy Nice stamp set, PTI cardstock and misc patterned paper, lace, prima flowers, my copics, Momento Tuxedo Black ink, Tim Holtz distressing ink, and my cuttlebug stylized embossing folder! This is also my work of art for the Paper Garden Projects Blog, to make something "girly"!
Have a wonderful day!

Monday...Oh Bother...

No matter how upbeat you try to be, I think Monday's always have the same feeling to them... The beginning of the work week and it means the weekend is officially over. An easy way to ease the pain of the weekend being over is to dive into creating!
Today is Color Monday over at Christian Paper Crafts with our sweet Miss Boo. I had so much fun with this, and since Jen was talking about May flowers in her description, I couldn't help but to use some flowers on my card! With the colors for today purple, green, white, and an optional neutral, they screamed flowers to me as well! Also, the wonderful sketch came from Die Cuts R Us! They are in their new little "home" on the web, A Crafty Little Place and I just love it when they have sketch challenges, so I had to play along!!
The stamp set used it PTI Blooming Button Bits and the cardstock is PTI as well. The ink, well that's some good ole SU Green Galore!
I hope your work week is wonderful and flies by to a SLOW but wonderful weekend to come :o)

Sunday School

Often when you see about gifts for teachers, they include the following elements: Apples, Black, Green, White, Yellow, and a child's handwriting for the font. However, I wanted to do something a little different since we are making gifts for different teachers. Since Abby is not in school, her teachers are Sunday School teachers. For the next couple of weeks, join me here as we go on a journey for Sunday School teacher gifts we can make and give while having fun, making others smile, and without spending a fortune!
First up is a card. I wonder how long it has been since your Sunday School teacher got a card thanking them for what they do? They are very special teachers you know, no monetary pay, but happily waiting on their Heavenly reward. I know many of them pour so much time into their classes that goes un-noticed by those who have never taught Sunday School.

Old Stampin Up (long retired) stamps, and some PTI cardstock. American Crafts for the ribbon and Prima made the flower!! Oh, and it follows the Sweet n Sassy Sweet Spot Sketch SSS17.

Scripture Saturday - Joshua 10:25 - SS003

Good afternoon everyone! I hope everyone that drops by the blog regularly has not dropped off since I have not posted in a week! I was having some major computer trouble... Well, really not major, but my computer would not type correctly in Internet Explorer and Firefox would not submit things properly! Long story made short, Abby (yes the 2 year old), hit some buttons on Thursday that caused me to have to sit down and work on the computer for almost 2 hours (it locked up EVERYTHING - Windows would not open), and after that we have been working fine!!
Today's Scripture Saturday scripture is from Joshua chapter 10 verse 25. I only used part of the verse on my page, which is of my dear Uncle John who passed away this past June. He and I were very close so this was a difficult page to make. If you notice, I have not done any journaling on the page yet except the verse. Perhaps one day I will be able to write my journaling on there, if not, I think the verse sums it all up. He was very strong and courageous all throughout his fight with brain cancer. He battled it over 4 years before going home to be with the Lord. Very strong and courageous if you ask me for a brain cancer that the medical field only gives a year life expectancy for!!
Come play along over at Christian Paper Crafts! Remember, there is no time limit, but please use SS003 and let us know if you upload or blog it anywhere!!
(My Minds Eye Papers, Buttons, Cricut)
This project is my card for 2Sketches4You this week! I used Cosmo Cricut papers and the stamp set is an oldie from SU Long Time Friend I think... The papers are all included in the His Princess Scrapbook Kits kit for this month!

2 Sketches 4 You Time

Wow! How long has it been since I have done a 2Sketches4You sketch? Too long - that's what I thought, too! The Lord blessed me with the time to make this today while my sweet little Abby was watching Veggie Tales! We are truly so blessed that God sent her to us!

I loved making this card, of course again, it is clear! I used Around and About Sentiments by PTI, Heavenly Medley by PTI, Garden Green ink by SU, Pure Poppy Ink by PTI, a random button and some jute!! Hope you like it!!
If you have not stopped by the Christian Paper Crafts site, please do so - there is a link to the right as well as if you click on the name! There are a lot of fun and exciting things going on over there!!

Scripture Saturday!

Hello and welcome back to Scripture Saturday! This week I decided to use the sketch from 2 Sketches 4 You to make my scripture card with! Want to know something else? The scripture is on the inside this week! The scripture chosen was Acts 19:11-12. I chose it because that is what we place on the cloths that we anoint for the sick at our church. I made this card to send to someone once we anoint a cloth for them! The flower is a big Bazzil, I just love those, and the papers are PaperTreyInk, SU, and My Mind's Eye Laundry Line. A little ribbon, some jute with a button, and a little word of Faith from the new Heavenly Medley Stamp Set from the June PTI release and our card became complete!
Thank You for stopping by today and have a wonderfully blessed weekend. Oh, and have you stopped by the Christian Paper Crafts Mag. site? There is some exciting news going on there that you do NOT want to miss! Come be a part of the fun of scrapbooking and praising our Lord!
Oh, and let me share a sweet, sweet picture with you! Here is my wonderful brother-in-law with his favorite (only) niece... Can you tell he has her spoiled? This is on his street bike, but when he bought the Harley, she is in his "New Harley Owner" photo with him ;o) He is an amazing Christian man, and my husband and I are so blessed that he loves our little girl so much. I am truly honored to have him for a brother (in-law).

Blessed Memorial Day

WoW! I can't believe that it is almost 5:00 here in my little part of the world. Where has the day went to, you may ask? Why it has been wonderful. My hubby and I were so blessed to have the day off from work today and spent it at home with the little one! She is asleep on the couch (as he is on the other), for we have played dress up and Princesses all day long :o) We are reminded daily of what a miracle she truly is and love her oh so much. Thank you Lord for choosing me for her!
Today's card is my interpretation of the Sweet 'n Sassy Saturday Sketch! I am loving playing along with those and the stamps are oh so fun. I truly can not wait for another release, I am sure Korin has something up her sleeve!
Enjoy!(All cardstock PTI, Little Lady stamp set and sentiment PTI, Misc Jute and Buttons, Ink PTI and SU!, misc bling, cuttlebug Swiss dots embossing folder)
Please enjoy the last bit of your holiday weekend to the safest and fullest. God has truly been wonderful to our nation. I hope that you were able to partake in the moment of silence at 3:00 pm your time today (if that has even come for you yet)... My personal prayer was for peace for our nation, thanks for God's blessings, CPC Mag, and others...

God Bless You

2 Sketches & a PaperTrey Challenge

I normally don't do two card posts in one day! usually I am lucky to get one made, uploaded, and posted. Since it is Saturday I must be doing a little better :)

The first card is for the 2 sketches challenge this week! I am no longer trying to hide my obsession with the Swiss dots folder, I will just proudly display the fact that I am obsessed with it and go on! The rest of the supplies are Stampin Up cardstock, American Crafts Ribbon, and Yellow Bicycle paper. I love the black flower, it took me forever to find a black one in all my stuff, and I am not even sure who made it!

The next card is for the PaperTrey Ink challenge as part of the countdown to their 2 year anniversary! I used mostly the same colors and just went with the PaperTrey sketch. I did go ahead and add scallops to the edges of this card though, because I liked the way they looked on the 2 sketches card. I used my snowflake additions stamps from PTI and the snowflake punches that coordinate with them. We have had so much snow here lately, I thought some pink snowflakes might be nice for a change! I stickled the middle of the snowflakes for some shine and the brads are sugar coated brads!

We are going to see Toby Keith in concert tonight and I am soooo excited!! Maybe I'll even have a picture to share tomorrow :)

God Bless You,
Mary

PaperTrey Friday!

Are you following along with all the fun leading up to the Two Year Anniversary on PaperTrey Ink? I sure am and I am loving it! Although I have not won anything, it is still fun to play! I didn't have any of the colors Nicole listed, but these were the closest I could find and I needed to make a card for my friend Beth. Beth - sorry your goodies will go out in the mail tomorrow morning :(I used prima flowers, my minds eye paper, brown and white cardstock, some green ribbon by American Crafts, miscellaneous brads I found, my small scallop circle punch, of course the Swiss dots folder to the cuttlebug and the strawberry is from My Punny Valentine Set by PaperTrey Ink. Ohm, and the ink is Close to My Heart and stampin up!

I am starting to worry about whether or not one of the goodies I ordered for the Birthday give-away is going to make it in...I may need to look for a plan B this weekend!

God Bless You,
Mary

Snowy Monday

We are getting some snow here in our part of the world today - hopefully it will not amount to anything though :) I am ready for some nice sunshine and Spring weather to be here.

My card today was made for my mom. First of all, let me tell you about her. To know my mom is to know love. She is the most amazing woman I have ever met in my life. My mommy is such a good hearted person and absolutely my best friend in the world. No wonder Abby loves her so much. Let me tell you - as a side note her sugar cookies with homemade frosting are the BEST! Paula Dean has nothing on my mommy! My mom also has a lot of trouble with sinuses though, and it causes her to lose her voice frequently in the Fall, Winter, and early Spring. I made this card as a get well/thinking of you and it just happened to turn out to be one of my favorite cards ever! Maybe it is because I was thinking of someone as special as her while I made it!

I used some my minds eye paper, brown cardstock, red cardstock, craft cardstock, Stampin Up!real red ink, Stampin Up! orange ink, American crafts red ribbon, jute, PTI's around and about sentiments, and of course PTI's Heart Prints. I also added a little bling!

Don't forget that a week from Monday starts Birthday celebration week! I have not decided how I am going to hand out the "gifts", but I do know some blog candy will be found here!

God Bless You,
Mary
