Back to Work

Good morning!  I hope that you are successfully recovering from your holiday weekend - if you had one!  Myself, I spent the majority of the day being a nurse, but was blessed enough to spend time with family at a BBQ as well!  I think of Memorial Day and why we celebrate, all the men and women who have fought for our freedom - and for me personally, our Holy Father who has given us the ultimate freedom, by sending His Son to take our place!

Today I decided to jump back in the swing of things and play along with Sweet Sunday Sketch SSSC185 ontwo of my creations creations, as well as The Play Date Cafe (183) color challenge on the top card!  The last card is playing along with the sketch from Sweet Sketch Wednesday #207).

All of my supplies came from either Taylored Expression's or PaperTrey Ink with some CTMH ink, miscellaneous copics, ribbon, and bling tossed in!

Thank you for stopping by and letting me be part of your day!  Your kind words and comments bless me immensely!

Almost Friday...

Has this week been long in your world?  It sure seems like it has in mine!  Perhaps it is because I am pretty excited for the weekend.  Abby, Mom, and I have a little of a girls day planned for Saturday and I simply can't wait!  It doesn't matter if we were just all together this past Saturday doing the same thing at the house - it's always a blessing!  The following cards are some little pretties I whipped up for our Church's Prayer Shawl Ministry using the Taylored Expressions Sketch Challenge sketch!  Love me some TE!  All the pretty papers you see used are from the kits, with the exception of the kraft and white cardstock, which is from PaperTreyInk

Have a great Thursday!!

Summer Hop & {ippity}

I've got a fun filled blog today!  If you are looking for the Taylored Expression's Blast From the Past Hop, you're here, and well, if you are looking for my I heart {ippity} post for today, well, you're here too!!
The theme for this month's blog hop is "Sending You Sunshine"!  Appropriately, I decided to make a card representing a group dear to my heart that continually works to send sunshine.  Our church does a Prayer Shawl Ministry that is continually trying to spread the love of God and Sonshine to others.
Check out the rest of the blog hoppers here:

Next up is my card for i heart {ippity} this week!  My guy totally wears a shirt and tie to work (almost) daily so I can't wait to tuck this away in his glovebox for him to find!

Have a blessed day!

*Thankful Thursday*

If you recall this post from a couple of weeks ago on Thankful Thursday, I was so very thankful for my dehumidifier...  Fast forward to a couple of days after that and you want to know what I became most thankful for?  Listening to God to check that dehumidifier that had NEVER been a problem.  I walked back into the house to check it to find the cord melting!  We may no longer have our dehumidifier, but thanks to listening to God, we still have our home!!  So today, I am thankful for God's ever loving presence and gentle way of speaking to us!
On to today's craftiness!  Today's card is for the wonderful Sweet n Sassy Sweet Stop Sketch #112 and the Color Challenge at Color Throwdown:
(Paper: PaperTreyInk, October Afternoon; Stamps: PaperTreyInk; Ink: Momento, Copics; Misc: Button, cuttlebug folder)
Another little project for today ties in two things I love, crafting and cooking!  Well, baking to be exact, but...  I have had so much trouble finding "cutesy" recipe cards that I decided to just make my own!  Now to find the perfect basket for them ;)  Good thing I know a Longaberger consultant ;)
(Stamps: Stampendous; Paper: PaperTreyInk, Georgia Pacific; Ink: PaperTreyInk, Copics)
* Would you like to make these for yourself, they were SUPER easy!  First I took a standard size 8.5x11 sheet of cardstock and cut it at 4.25 and 5.5 inches, leaving me with the 4 cards for bases.
* Next I took my white sheet of the same sized cardstock and did the same thing.  Since I wanted the white to be slightly smaller, I went back and took 1/4 an inch off of the length and width of each of them.
* Then I inked up my Stampendous What's Cooking stamps and decorated the front of a white card ever so slightly and used the large image on a scrap piece of cardstock which I then punched out with my scallop punch for the back.
*Note: After your ink dries, you can color in the images if you wish, I colored some of mine with Copics, but colored pencils would look great for a country touch!
*I took a piece of scrap ribbon and wrapped it around the card to ensure the ends would land under the scalloped image on the back and secure with tape or glue.
* Adhere the white cardstock you decorated to the front of the kraft.
*Place the scalloped circle on the back with pop up dots, covering the endings of the ribbns
* There you have it, easy peasy recipe cards!

Thankful Thursday!

What am I thankful for today?  Everything, but I guess that would be a blanket answer...  My family or maybe I could just say my Abby, but that would be too obvious...  Nope, the point of thankful Thursday is to get you to think outside the box for what you are thankful for!  Mine today - the dehumidifier in our bedroom!  Although this sounds like nothing, it has made a HUGE difference in my sinus/allergies and quantity/quality of sleep!
My little card today is full of things I love: the color pink, kraft, primas, ribbon, sewing, nestabilities, buttons, twine, pins, and copics, and of couse my little stampendous owl stamp set!  This little card is made for Color Monday at Christian Paper Crafts this week and also uses a ST98 from CPCTuesday Throwdown's challenge this week is DIY embellishments, so I decided to sew my grey ribbon onto my white and make "scrunched" ribbon!
Hope you are having a wonderful week!!  Our weekend seems like it will be just as busy as the rest of the week has been...  What's that, no rest for the weary! lol

Happy Birthday to Me! :o)

Happy Tuesda everyone!  I hope you are all having a fantastic day!  I decided to treat myself to a vacation day for my birthday - Great gift - being at home and still getting paid for the day of work!  What better to do than spend the day with my little girl, work on Relay stuff, and uhm, make myself a birthday card! :o)  What better way to get the card you want than to make it yourself?  I couldn't think of one either!
Of course, my card had to have some pink, some PaperTrey, Stampendous stamps, October Afternoon, flowers, glimmer mist, copics, & buttons...  all the things I simply adore in the world of paper!

Of course, I had to use a wonderful sketch from Gloria at Christian Paper Crafts!

Hope you all are having as happy of a day as I am!

Monday Morning Monkey Time!

Good Monday Morning...  We are supposed to get - get this - another Snow Storm this week!  Trust me - all this white stuff is totally ruining my mojo for getting anything done!
Later today over at Christian Paper Crafts, I will announce the winners from our very first PPN!  If you missed this one, you have another opportunity to play along coming up February 17th!
Today is Color Monday and I have some super fun colors picked out for you to play along with!  Here is my sample that I encorporated with the wonderful Sweet Sketch Wednesday sketch for this week:

Campbell's Soup Kind of Friday

Whew!  Can you believe Friday is finally here?  I'm sure excited about it!  Hopefully the snow will hold off and we will get to have church Sunday!  *insert super happy face*
Today's Fun on Friday at Christian Paper Crafts inspired my litte card below, along with the sketch challenge from Card Patterns!  These old "Campbell's Soup Kids" (SU! Vintage Valentine) are some of mine and Abby's favorite images!  Oh - PaperTreyInk release is tonight at midnight!  I can't wait to "get my stamp on"!
(Paper: PaperTreyInk, BoBunny; Image: Stampin Up, PaperTreyInk - Background Basics-Text Style; Ink: Momento, Copics; Misc: ribbon, lace, button, jute, cuttlebug swiss dots, marvy scallop punch)

Have a wonderful day!

I know  it's only the 4th day of January and I'm ready to jump into Valentine's Day!  Think - it's that much closer to Spring!  The funnier part of the story is that our church's Ladies Auxillary is just now getting to have their Christmas part tonight - and here I am in a Valentine mood!
My card today is inspired by the awesome sketch at Christian Paper Crafts for Sketch Tuesday today!

Fading from Fall

Even though Winter does not officially start until sometime in December, at my house, we are already starting to fade away from Fall and into the Christmas spirit and mood!  It's kind of a stretch for me to be still making Fall cards when I have visions of nativity scenes, reds, greens, etc... floating around in my mind!
For this card, I decided to once again use Stacey's Stamping Stage Color Call Colors this week and combine it with the Wednesday CASE Artist challenge over at Christian Paper Crafts!  I am pretty tickled with the little card:

(Paper: PaperTreyInk, Basic Grey; Image: PaperTreyInk; Accessories: bling, copics)

Hey - it's the middle of the work week!!

Peace & Good Cheer

I totally can not believe that it is already November!  Surely we just returned from the beach just the other day, didn't we?
So many of the challenge sites are already picking colors that have my mind wrapped around Christmas, it just makes me smile!  I decided to combine this week's Color Throwdown with Sketch Tuesday over at Christian Paper Crafts.  Of course, it was a great excuse to get some new PaperTreyInk stamps inked up ;)
(Paper: PaperTreyInk, Image: Paper Trey Ink; Ink: Close to My Heart, Copics;
Accessories: Nestabilites, stickles, ribbon, bling)

I hope your week is going wonderfully!

My Loves are Nestled, All Snug in the Bed...

My sweet hubby has the week off and is getting to spend it home with our precious little one.  Oh, trust me, I have been fighting off the pangs of jealousy and the bits of sadness that I will not be sharing this fun time with them this week...  But, work it is for me!
Today is Color Monday at Christian Paper Crafts and you truly never know what combination Jen is going to throw at you!  Today's is cream, tan, chocolate, and garden green.  I substituted kraft for the tan and added a llittle of a light shade of green for the flowers, but kept them green to attemp to keep the color scheme going.  The card is also for the Clean and Simple (CAS) challenges both at SplitCoastStampers today (theme: Sympathy) and Christian Paper Crafts from Saturday October 30th!  The great sketch, well that's from Sweet Sunday Sketches of course :)
(Paper: PaperTreyInk; Image: PaperTreyInk; Ink: Copics, Momento; Accessories: ribbon, Spellbinder's Nestabilities)

Have a wonderful week and beginning of November!

CPC Wednesday Case Artist - Thank You...

Wednesday is CASE Artist Day at Christian Paper Crafts, and with our new direction, we have decided to take one Wednesday a month to CASE one of our Partner Companies who are so gracious to us!  As the first Wednesday CASE Artist date rolled around, there was no doubt in my mind of who to CASE - our very own CINDY, who has done so much for us!
Click here to see the card in Cindy's gallery at Christian Paper Crafts.  You'll quickly notice the card that Abby chose for me to CASE.
The lovely sketch is from Sweet Sunday Sketches!
Below is mine:

We truly do love you and thank God for you Cindy!

Throwin Down Some Color

Good morning!  The colors of Fall finally seem to be arriving in our neck of the woods with the crisp leaves quickly falling!  Autumn has such rich colors, this challenge from Color Throwdown immediately made me think of the precious colors we are seeing in God's world!  The sketch is from last week at Christian Paper Crafts, be sure to check the new one out over there today!

*Happy Birthday Daddy*

Today is my Daddy's Birthday!  He really is the best daddy in the world, and I am so blessed to have him as mine!
Being a total girly girl, my daddy always gets the girliest cards from me even though I try not to make them that way...  This is the most masculine card I could sum up for this year!  Of course it may be cheating a little bit since I had to use Halloween colors to pull it off :o)  Ahh, the joys of an October birthday.  And I just had to add some sparkle for the Sweet Stop Sketch Challenge this week!

Welcome to Christian Paper Crafts, Scrabooking!

Good morning! Can you believe it is the middle of the week already? Thankfully we are planning a little mini trip to take Abby to DollyWood this Saturday, but shhh, she doesn’t know – it’s a surprise!
Today is the kick-off of the new Scrapbooking Section over at Christian Paper Crafts! Please make time to stop by and see what all of the commotion is about! Since it is also Wednesday, it is time once again for CASE Artist Wednesday. Today’s challenge is to CASE ANYTHING from the new scrapbook section! See, simple as that, plus you are getting to play along in 2 challenges! How’s that for multi-tasking!!
The challenge I decided to CASE is a sketch, which also is the title of one of the new scrapbook challenges, Stretch Your Sketch! Here is what I came up with:

Also today, I have my card for Christian Paper Crafts Sketch Tuesday to share with you!  Made with some PaperTrey and Abbey Road sweetness with a touch of pearls!  This little bit is also going in the challenge over at Stampin Sister's in Christ this week :o)

Welcome to Monday!

Today is my little girl's first day of dance school and we are so excited :o)  She's been talking about it forever and the day has finally come!  I hope and pray it is all she ever dreamed it would be!
Be sure to check out the challenge over at Deedee's Digi's today!  Seasons!  I totally love the change of seasons, especially the season of Fall!
This little guy makes me think of Fall and is available in Deedee's store!  In fact, if it is Fall images you are looking for, you have GOT to check the store out!  (Oh, and the wonderful sketch is from the Paper Works Company!)

(Image: Deedee's Digi; Paper: PaperTreyInk, Cosmo Cricket; Ink: Copics, Misc: Ribbon, Tattered Angel's Glimmer Mist, Button, Jute, Lace)
This next little lovely is some fun colors that totally don't fit in with the Season of Fall!  They look more like Spring or Summer, hehehe, but they are the colors for today's Color Monday over at Christian Paper Crafts!  I decided to combine them with the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #85 for this:
(Paper: PaperTreyInk, Misc DP; Ink: PaperTreyInk; Image: PaperTreyInk; Misc:Buttons, ribbon)

Thankful Thursdays

I seem to always want to title Thursdays posts as Thankful Thursdays!  I'm not sure if it is because the weekend is coming close and that makes me so much more thankful than usual or what!
Today, or should I say tonight when I am typing this LOL, I am thankful to have a moment of internet service in this aggravation of not having consistent service for almost a month now!
Looking at the calender, I see that Christmas is just around the corner and so I decided to use a cute little Deedee's Digi, along with this week's Sunday Sketch and Stamp Sketch to come up with this:
(Paper: PaperTreyInk, misc pp; Image: Deedee's Digis; Ink: Copics; Misc: Cork, lace, ribbon, Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist - Frost)

Finally Friday!

Well - it's finally Friday of a three day weekend and my internet is working...for the moment!  Hopefully things are starting to look up!
It sure has been a long time - and real inconsistant since I have been in...  I hope that is fixed and all will be well once more...
How about a cute little Deedee's Digi bear on a card today?  Well, here you go:

Image: Deedee's Digis; Paper: Cosmo Cricket, PTI; Ink: Copics, Distress Ink-Tea Stain;
Accessories: Butterfly bling, butterfly trim, primas

This little card was entered into the following challenges:
* Color Throwdown
