CPC Preview Day :o)

Hello!  Today is my day to share a sneak peak for this month's DT Delights gallery at Christian Paper Crafts :o)  I am so excited to show you my little project, it is one dear to my hear!  You see, I love to have "scripture cards" (ATC sized cards with scripture) on my desk at work for a quick reference whenever I need a pick me up (or brought back down to Earth)!  The biggest problem, they are all SUPER girly - pinks, ribbons, lace, etc...  My goal for this month was to use some "manly-er colors" to fit our theme at Christian Paper Crafts for the month!  I am excited to say that hubby approved, he still thinks they are a little girly though lol - I guess there's no hope for me :o)

Have a wonderful day and don't forget that the special May Design Team Delights gallery opens tomorrow at Christian Paper Crafts for Super Sisters and King's Daughter members!  Hope to see you there!

Oh, and as a follow up, I had some questions about my projects from the other day...  The egg pattern closest to mine can be found by googling "you tube crocheted egg pattern - It is the first one that comes up by a lady Thearsa (could not add the link for some reason tonight)... (--> Oh, and I have a hard time sticking to a pattern or recipe of any sort, so I am sure I changed it some) and the camera strap was just winged for the most part with a little inspiration from here and there, oh an the fact that I am tight and wouldn't pay for someone else to make it...  maybe that should be a tutorial ;o)

For this special blog hop a bunch of friends and designers got togetherand ended up with 40+ participants and 19 sponsors giving away a total of 21 prizes. Random commenters will be drawn from random blogs, so the more love they/you leave the more chances you have to win.

So let's get going!
This morning's Color Monday at Christian Paper Crafts is all about LOVE!  I decided to combine that with the LOVE BLOG home and here you have it:

As an extra little bonus, I have a sneak preview project to share!  The Christian Paper Crafts special Design Team Delights Gallery for February is opening tomorrow with our lovely sponsor My Time Made Easy.  Here is one of my little goodies:
Don't you just love those little seed packets? They are one of the new templates and oh so easy to work with.  There is even a template for cutting the inside card, which I used on the photos of my little Abby!  I will have these on the table at her upcoming birthday party!  What a cute way to show off her year without having to worry about the scrapbooks being destroyed!  Also, these are all extras of pictures, so grandparents can take as they please!  My Time Made Easy also sells digital stamps which are totally awesome and would make a wonderful addition to any of your projects.

Happy Love Day!  The most precious gift of love is the love of Christ - I pray you each are blessed with this special love in your lives!

Fun-ly Friday

I'm actually excited to go in and get my work day over with!  When I get home, my loves will be waiting and the weather man says we may be snowed in this weekend!  Ahhh - time to play with paper!
Today is Fun on Friday at Christian Paper Crafts and I can't wait to show you what I made.  You see, if you've ever visited my blog, you know 1) I almost always have a brown or kraft card base, 2) bright colors are WAY outside of my comfort zone!  But look below:
(Cardstock: PaperTreyInk; Designer Paper: Basic Grey; Stamps: PaperTreyInk - Love Song, PaperTreyInk - Background Basics-Music; Misc: buttons, cuttlebug, lace trim)

What's even wilder is that I am actually tickled with it!  A real oddity for me and my creations!  Along with the Fun on Friday Challenge at Christian Paper Crafts, this card also falls under the Color Dare challenge for this week, Fab n Funky's challenge, and the wonderful sketch is from Sweet Sketch Wednesday!
I hope your weekend is as lovely as you are!

Happy 2011

Good morning!  Welcome to my first blog post of 2011!  Wait, that sounds a little too excited for a Monday, doesn't it?!  I am so blessed as I lay her in the bed and type up this blog with my loves fast asleep beside me, there's no feeling but happiness and peace!
Today I have a little card for you that is nothing but sweet sunshine, no winter blahs here!  I'm now hosting Color Monday over at Christian Paper Crafts and so tickled at this new venture!  Today's inspiration was from a magazine cover and here is what I came up with:
(Paper: PaperTreyInk, Basic Grey; Images: Background Basics - Music - PaperTreyInk; Ink: PaperTreyInk; Misc, handmade flower, button, ribbon, pearls)
Have a wonderful day!

Weekend Creations

Hope you are having a wonderful weekend.  Here are my cards I have to show you today.
First up is a Christmas card for mom and dad...shhh, don't tell.  The Fun on Friday challenge at Christian Paper Crafts on Friday was to make a card using a photograph.  I decided to combine it with a couple more challenges, like the Bible Verse Thursday challenge, the sketch challenge at Sweet Sketch Wednesday, inchies to represent the challenge at Tuesday Throwdown, and the wonderful color challenge at Color Throwdown to get what you see below:

(Paper: PaperTreyInk, BasicGrey; Ink: Close to my Heart; Images: PaperTreyInk; Accesories: Cuttlebug)

Next up is a little card that I did for today's Clean and Simple challenge at Christian Paper Crafts.  By combining it with the awesome sketch at 2 Sketches 4 You and adding the colors from Color Dare in, I am so tickled with the cute response!
(Paper: PaperTreyInk; Images: PaperTreyInk; Ink: Close to my Heart; Accessories: bling, ribbon)

Welcome to Christian Paper Crafts, Scrabooking!

Good morning! Can you believe it is the middle of the week already? Thankfully we are planning a little mini trip to take Abby to DollyWood this Saturday, but shhh, she doesn’t know – it’s a surprise!
Today is the kick-off of the new Scrapbooking Section over at Christian Paper Crafts! Please make time to stop by and see what all of the commotion is about! Since it is also Wednesday, it is time once again for CASE Artist Wednesday. Today’s challenge is to CASE ANYTHING from the new scrapbook section! See, simple as that, plus you are getting to play along in 2 challenges! How’s that for multi-tasking!!
The challenge I decided to CASE is a sketch, which also is the title of one of the new scrapbook challenges, Stretch Your Sketch! Here is what I came up with:

Also today, I have my card for Christian Paper Crafts Sketch Tuesday to share with you!  Made with some PaperTrey and Abbey Road sweetness with a touch of pearls!  This little bit is also going in the challenge over at Stampin Sister's in Christ this week :o)

Oh Baby Baby...

And before you get any wild ideas - no, we're not having another baby!  It's the wonderful new Baby digis from Deedee's Digis that has me saying that!  You see, I have always dreaded making baby shower cards.  To be honest, I usually *faints* buy them from the store... <---that is how bad I really dislike it!  But with these stamps - I actually made 3...in one night....SUPER easy...no pain to it!
First off, my kind of baby!  Kraft, the vintage feel of Basic Grey paper, some distress ink, an edge distresser, and a homemade flower (Christian Paper Crafts Bible Verse Thursday Challenge)...  Meet Ms. Shabby Chic!
(Paper: PaperTreyInk,BasicGrey; Image:Deedee's Digi;, Ink: Copics, Distress Ink - Tea Stain; Accessories: Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist, Lace, homemade flower, pearl)
Followed by this little number where I placed an image from Deedee's Cuties for a Cure on the onesie!  They are all inchies in that set so it works out perfectly:
(Paper: PaperTreyInk, Basic Grey; Image: Deedee's Digis; Accessories: Jute; Ink: Copics, Distress Ink - Tea Stain)
And last but not least, for all the momma's of boys out there, this little card is made using the same concept as the previous girly card.  Meet little dude:
(Paper: PaperTreyInk, Basic Grey; Ink: Copics, Distress Ink - Tea Stain; Accessories: Jute, cuttlebug; Image: Deedee's Digis)

*All card layouts were inpired by the sketch at CPS this week!
Thank you for stopping by today!

WCA63 - Christian Paper Crafts Case Artist

Good morning!  Welcome to the middle of the work week!  Today I want to introduce you to a sweet little stamp set that is all new from Deedee's Digis: Inchies for a Cure!  These little things are so special, and especially to me!  You see, the money from the sales of this set (minus payal fees) goes to the National Childhood Cancer Foundation.  Since my sister passed away when I was only 18mos old from Aplastic Anemia, I feel so blessed that Deedee is doing something like this!!
Here is my little card made for the Wednesday Case Artist at Christian Paper Crafts, featuring LelaScraps and using the sweet set!

(Paper: PaperTreyInk, Basic Grey; Ink: Copics; Accessories: Jute, Buttons, Ribbon)

Sky's the Limit

Hmmm, I must be in a "muted color" sort of mood today...  Maybe it is because the Summer is quickly passing by us and these sorter shades for some reason make me think of the humid Summertime we have had here...  Check out the sketch challenge over at Christian Paper Crafts to play along with this lovely little sketch!

(Paper: PaperTreyInk, Basic Grey; Image: PaperTreyInk, Accessories: Buttons, Copics, Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist)

Have a great Tuesday!

Merry Christmas &a Pig...Say What?!

Well, I know that it is Summer time, but Christmas challenges seem to be popping up everywhere! Have you noticed it too? I figured that I may as well jump on the band-wagon, that way I would have at least one card done come Christmas time!
(Paper: PaperTreyInk, Basic Grey; Ink: Copics, Distress Ink, White Ink; Image: Deedee’s Digis; Accessories: Fiskars Punch, Edge Distressing Tool, CuttleBug Snowflake Embossing Folder, Jute, Buttons, Acetate Sheets)
I decided to combine multiple challenges into this one though! First of all, the Christmas challenge is from The Cuttlebug Spot – notice the snowflake embossing done on kraft and highlighted with a little white ink! The colors, well they are from Color Throwdown #102, so pretty, and although they were chosen to be Summer Colors, I think they worked great for a Cool Winter card. The corners of the card have paper piercing added as a result of the Tuesday Throwdown challenge. And last, but not least, Midnight Madness is responsible for the awesome sketch! If you notice the snowflakes on the card in the corner, my dear friend Candace was looking for some “Ghost Snowflakes by Heidi Swapp”, so I decided to see if I could create them… Not sure if I am happy with them or not LOL It’s sure not something I would be happy enough with to give LOL

Next up is a cute little pig card that I made to go along with a Prayer Shawl that I am working on. The cute little image is from Deedee’s Digis and you can find him in the Dollar Digi bin over there at the Deedee’s Digi’s Store!  The wonderful sketch is from Sweet Sketches.
(Image: Deedee’s Digis; Paper: PaperTreyInk, BasicGrey; Ink: Copics, Distress Ink; Accessories: Ribbon, Prima, Stickles)

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Wish Right Now :o)

I was going thru the radio stations, (because one week ago, my radio listening changed forever when our communities beloved Randy Jones suddenly passed away) and heard a song...  "I could really use a wish right now....can we pretend that airplanes in the night sky are like shooting stars....  I could really use a wish right now...."  It got me to thinking about how much wishing is done...  I am trying to teach Abby not to necessarily just wish, but seek through prayer in Jesus!  Little wishes are okay, I just want her to know to rely on Him for the *big stuff*!  So, have you got a "wish right now"?
The challenge over at Digi Doodle Shop currently is an "anything goes" challenge.  I just had to combine it with this adorable well image from Deedee's Digis, because it made me think of a wishing well!

*PTI cardstock, Basic Grey designer paper, cuttlebug, buttons, jute, lace, copics, edge distresser, distress ink, marvy scallop circle punches*

My *wish* for you - is that all your wishes come true!  :o)

Pretty Toes and Headache Woes

Hello and Happy Saturday everyone! I hope that everyone's weekend is off to a wonderful start! Although I have been dealing with a headache, I have to say it has been a great weekend so far! Right now I am blessed to be getting a pedicure as I type this blog...well, my hubby is the one doing it, but that's the best :o) I love having some pretty toes to peep out of new sandals!
This yucky headache has lingered for a couple of days, therefore so did this card. I still don't think I am totally satisfied with it, but as much as I will ever be, I suppose. Since I didn't feel too well, I tried to combine as many things as possible! The sketch is from the lovely 2Sketches4You, while the Bible verse using the word "paths" is from the Bible Verse Thursday challenge #55 over at Christian Paper Crafts. Also, the heart is colored using copic markers, the challenge for Fun on Friday #54 over at Christan Paper Crafts as well!
Supplies: PTI cardstock, Georgia Pacific cardstock, Basic Grey pp, Wright's Creative Classic Trim, American Crafts Slick Writer, Ippity Stamps (Music of My Hearts), SU Real Red Ink, PTI Hibiscus ink, Bubblegum glimmermist
Also, this card was my first ever attempt at using glimmer mist.
With that being said, it led into this:
Now this was F-U-N and right up my ally!! The Scripture 1 Timothy 2:1 is for Scripture Saturday #47 also at CPC. After using the glimmer mist on the card prior to this one, I had to break it out again and spritz some around! Add some jute, trim, and a button, along with distressing the edges of the stamped image to shabby it up a bit! The stamp of the birdhouses is from a Unity KOM from this year, although I cannot remember which month, and the background is stamped with music which is the challenge over at Stampin' Sisters In Christ this week! I used CTMH inks Pansy Purple and Sunflower. This sketch is from MOJO Monday, Sketch 139, and although I always want to play along, I usually forget the sketch and use it too late to add it to the link list - not this week...almost, but I'm making it in time :o)
Well, I'm off to add these cards to the Prayer Shawl Ministry Basket! Thank you for stopping by, I sure hope you come back soon!

SONshine for the Soul

You know, sunshine really is good for the body. Lately we have had so much sickness in our community, it got me to thinking. Although there is sickness around and the dreary weather seems to only add to the feeling that brings, there is something better. SONshine is good for the soul. Right now, the pastor of our church is sick and in the hospital. As a Christian man, he desires your prayers for healing so that he may continue to do God's work. Please join me in praying for Brother Donnie.
Today is Sketch Tuesday over at Christian Paper Crafts! I used Basic Grey blush pp, PTI cardstock, Ippity Stamps, Copics (of course), jute and a button!
The edges of the scripture and heart image are lightly distressed with an edge distressing tool and the stitching, why that's fake sweetie :o)

God Bless You,

Fun and Fabulous 'Cause It's Friday!

I'm so excited that Friday is finally here! With snow in the middle of the week, it seems to have made this week so much longer! I thought I would be able to sneak out of "date night" tonight since I have so much homework and housework, but alas, I have been talked into it, and we agreed to a modified date night :o) Sounds like Abby is still getting her way :o)
With Valentine's Day right around the corner, have you found your sweetie something yet? My hubby's gift is hidden away, just waiting for Sunday - as is Abby's! Instead of buying candy from the store, I decided to bake up some brownies with the cutest little white chocolate chips on top and tuck them down in a pocket heart! A warm and sweet treat for these cold little days before Valentine's!

Check out today's Fun on Friday over at Christian Paper Crafts and link back there telling us about your creation :o) I decided to combine this Friday's challenge with the weekly challenge over at DCRU - to have LOVE as the theme of your project! Oh, and the paper, why that's Basic Grey Sugar Rush left over from last week! Gotta use those Valentine goodies up while you can!

God Bless You,
Mary

P.S. Don't forget that you can sign up for "Birthday Blog Candy" once per day from now until Tuesday - the winner will be announced Wednesday morning!

Super Scrap Sunday

Well, it's not really that here, but I thought it would be a nice thought! It's more like "Super get the homework, housework, and everything ready for the work week Sunday"! Oh, and that big football game comes on today as well!
I decided to work on my honey's Valentine card while he watches the big game and works away at the computer! Oh how I love that man, he makes the world spin just a little bit easier here at our home...
This little card also follows the DCRU challenge for this week...see, it has just a touch of "sugah" (Basic Grey Sugar Rush were the color combo challenges) and uses Basic Grey Sugar Rush Products!! The tag is really something my "sugah" would say to me! I am sure with both of us working full time, having a toddler, and me in school full time taking accelerated classes, I do more than drive him a little nuts at times :o) I love you, honey!
Have a wonderful week my Bloggy Family :o)

God Bless You,

*Insert Catchy Title Here*

I'm not having too creative of a day (as if you aren't aware of that after seeing the title of today's blog). If the calander wasn't saying Tuesday, I would be more than convinced that today is Monday all over again, expect more Monday-ish, so to speak! I hear the groundhog saw his shadow, which I suppose means 6 more weeks of plowing the snow in the Camry for me...
My little one is even getting tired ofthe snow, which is something I should most definately scrapbook, but chose to scrapbook happy memories of snow for her instead! Check this out!

This whole page is made from nothing but scraps of leftover Basic Grey Figgy Pudding paper from last year! Check out the snowflakes cut out on the Cricut. The middle one is smothered in Martha Stewart glitter!
Check back tomorrow to see if these scraps went just a little bit futher...

God Bless You,
