Music in my Heart

Good Thursday morning!  Today is Bibe Verse Thursday at Christian Paper Crafts.  There are lots of fun ad exciting changes going on over there and I encourage you to check them out!!  Today's challenge inspired this little card below, which I also paired with challenges from Claudia & Company (Die Cuts R Us), The 12 Days of Christmas Challenge (sketch sponsored by Flourishes), Tuesday Throwdown (embossing), and the 2Sketches4You sketch (tag).
(Cardstock: PaperTreyInk; Designer Paper: Bo Bunny; Ink: PaperTreyInk; Misc: Ribbon, button, jute, ric-rac)

Sweet....

That's what today is! Friday's are almost always sweet, but today I get to FINALLY tell you that I will be on the Design Team for Deedee's Digis! :o) If you've never tried digi's, Deedee's gives out a freebie weekly, what easier way than that to try it out and see if you like it!!
Over at Christian Paper Crafts today, our Fun on Friday challenge is masculine themed! Mine of course is a Father's Day card since I am totally stumped at what to get for my dad this year...

For this card, I drug Tractor Time off of the shelf and went from there. Come to think of it, I'm pretty sure all of my cards for dad have tractors on them... The papers are from PaperTreyInk with the exception of the designer green paper, and it was actually in the left over pile! Some cuttlebug action and jute tied it up! The fabulous sketch is from the Sweet Spot this week :o) Stampin Sisters in Christ and A Crafty Little Place are also both all about dad for their challenges this week!

Have a fabulous Friday!

God Bless You,

Certification Sunday

Yup, you read that read - Copic Certification that is! I am so excited and can't wait to know more about my much loved markers! Charleston, West Virginia - meet Softangelkisses!
Die Cuts R Us has the sweet little creative space of A Crafty Little Place and their challenges alway allow me to "think outside the box"! This week was a sketch, and I can honestly say I have not done a border quite like that before!
I used Cosmo Cricket papers along with PTI stamps and CTMH ink!
Have a great Sunday!

Pretty Toes and Headache Woes

Hello and Happy Saturday everyone! I hope that everyone's weekend is off to a wonderful start! Although I have been dealing with a headache, I have to say it has been a great weekend so far! Right now I am blessed to be getting a pedicure as I type this blog...well, my hubby is the one doing it, but that's the best :o) I love having some pretty toes to peep out of new sandals!
This yucky headache has lingered for a couple of days, therefore so did this card. I still don't think I am totally satisfied with it, but as much as I will ever be, I suppose. Since I didn't feel too well, I tried to combine as many things as possible! The sketch is from the lovely 2Sketches4You, while the Bible verse using the word "paths" is from the Bible Verse Thursday challenge #55 over at Christian Paper Crafts. Also, the heart is colored using copic markers, the challenge for Fun on Friday #54 over at Christan Paper Crafts as well!
Supplies: PTI cardstock, Georgia Pacific cardstock, Basic Grey pp, Wright's Creative Classic Trim, American Crafts Slick Writer, Ippity Stamps (Music of My Hearts), SU Real Red Ink, PTI Hibiscus ink, Bubblegum glimmermist
Also, this card was my first ever attempt at using glimmer mist.
With that being said, it led into this:
Now this was F-U-N and right up my ally!! The Scripture 1 Timothy 2:1 is for Scripture Saturday #47 also at CPC. After using the glimmer mist on the card prior to this one, I had to break it out again and spritz some around! Add some jute, trim, and a button, along with distressing the edges of the stamped image to shabby it up a bit! The stamp of the birdhouses is from a Unity KOM from this year, although I cannot remember which month, and the background is stamped with music which is the challenge over at Stampin' Sisters In Christ this week! I used CTMH inks Pansy Purple and Sunflower. This sketch is from MOJO Monday, Sketch 139, and although I always want to play along, I usually forget the sketch and use it too late to add it to the link list - not this week...almost, but I'm making it in time :o)
Well, I'm off to add these cards to the Prayer Shawl Ministry Basket! Thank you for stopping by, I sure hope you come back soon!

God Bless You,

Finally Friday :o)

I am so happy that it is Finally Friday!! I have been so busy with work this week, I am actually excited about the chance to catch up on some homework :o) Oh, and some housework too LOL!
My first card today is made following the sketch over at Die Cuts R Us' A Crafty Little Place! I love their sketches, they are always such fun to work with!

For this, I used PTI carsdtock along with My Mind's Eye Papers. Hawaiian Shores Ink (by PTI), buttons, lace, and jute!
Next up is Fun on Friday over at Christian Paper Crafts! And guess what, we have a guest hostess today so hop on over and check it out! Today's challenge....Anything altered! Everyone who knows me knows that one thing I love to do is write! You would think that as much as I do write, my handwriting would be better than it is LOL... I write all the time, making notes, writing lists, etc... Papers are PTI and Cosmo Cricket, I used Copics, PTI Vintage Picnic and Take Note Stamp Sets, and CTMH inks!
This is the first time that I have played along with the SplitCoastStampers sketch challenge. All the stampers over there are so wonderful, it can feel intimidating at times! I don't know why I chose to start with this one though, I have such trouble having anything crooked on purpose :o)
SC280. All papers are PTI, lace was tea stained by me and Abby :o) and the Ippity Butterfly was colored with Copics :o)
Have a great weekend!
God Bless You,

Monday...Oh Bother...

No matter how upbeat you try to be, I think Monday's always have the same feeling to them... The beginning of the work week and it means the weekend is officially over. An easy way to ease the pain of the weekend being over is to dive into creating!
Today is Color Monday over at Christian Paper Crafts with our sweet Miss Boo. I had so much fun with this, and since Jen was talking about May flowers in her description, I couldn't help but to use some flowers on my card! With the colors for today purple, green, white, and an optional neutral, they screamed flowers to me as well! Also, the wonderful sketch came from Die Cuts R Us! They are in their new little "home" on the web, A Crafty Little Place and I just love it when they have sketch challenges, so I had to play along!!
The stamp set used it PTI Blooming Button Bits and the cardstock is PTI as well. The ink, well that's some good ole SU Green Galore!
I hope your work week is wonderful and flies by to a SLOW but wonderful weekend to come :o)

Sweet Sweet Sunday...

Sunday's should be such a calm, relaxing day, it is so sad that Monday is the follow up and makes me dread it all day Sunday... Therefore, no one should have to work Monday's so we can better enjoy Sunday :o)
I'm loving playing along with Die Cuts R Us, especially since today's challenge was to use left over Valentine's goodies! Boy - do I have enough of those left! So, here you go! The paper - yeah, that's pretty lovey dovey, but I just added a layer with some stamped {Ippity} on there and you have it! On the inside, I also added a Bible Verse sentiment from this same set. Speaking of which, this set and MORE are available at {Ippity} Kisses - with the profits going to the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life! If you don't have any {ippity} chick, please consider me and the Relay :o)
I'm hoping to get a dinner out of my hubby today since my Valentine's present has still not made it through the mail LOL - We'll have to wait and see I guess!

God Bless You,
Mary

Strawberry-Banana Bread Kind of Day...

Winner!! If you are GOCANUCKS go, please send me an email to marycollins.at.windstream.net (sorry, had to type it that way to prevent spam) with your email address and name! You have won a small gift certificate to Lauren Meader's new store, My Time Made Easy!
Yumm.... Last night I baked some homemade strawberry-banana bread... so nice and fresh, we are eating this loaf without the topping :o) I guess that just means we'll have to force ourselves to make another loaf to try the topping!
Today I'm combining some challenges in my projects! First you will see my card!
This card was made with clear cardstock, PTI paper, Unity Stamp, etc... The challenge for DCRU this week is to NOT use DP or Patterned Paper. Even though it was hard, I drug out the cuttlebug and used my new floral screen folder to do a little embossing, The fabulous sketch come from the ever-so talented 2Sketches4You and the glitz and glimmer you see on the church house, well that's part of the challenge over at Christian Paper Crafts today for Fun on Friday! We have a special guest host and you'll want to click over there and find out more!!

Next is a layout that I made of my sweet little girl on Christmas morning! The layout was part of a challenge for our local scrapbook store, and the glitter that is showered about the snowflakes is for Fun on Friday today as well!
I hope you have a wonderful day and blessed weekend. My sweet hubby has minister's conference tonight, so I guess me and the little one are going to have a night to ourselves!
Don't forget to check out {Ippity} Kisses! There are some MAGNIFICENT Grand Opening Sales there and remember, this {ippity} chick does it for charity!!

God Bless You,

Fun and Fabulous 'Cause It's Friday!

I'm so excited that Friday is finally here! With snow in the middle of the week, it seems to have made this week so much longer! I thought I would be able to sneak out of "date night" tonight since I have so much homework and housework, but alas, I have been talked into it, and we agreed to a modified date night :o) Sounds like Abby is still getting her way :o)
With Valentine's Day right around the corner, have you found your sweetie something yet? My hubby's gift is hidden away, just waiting for Sunday - as is Abby's! Instead of buying candy from the store, I decided to bake up some brownies with the cutest little white chocolate chips on top and tuck them down in a pocket heart! A warm and sweet treat for these cold little days before Valentine's!

Check out today's Fun on Friday over at Christian Paper Crafts and link back there telling us about your creation :o) I decided to combine this Friday's challenge with the weekly challenge over at DCRU - to have LOVE as the theme of your project! Oh, and the paper, why that's Basic Grey Sugar Rush left over from last week! Gotta use those Valentine goodies up while you can!

God Bless You,
Mary

P.S. Don't forget that you can sign up for "Birthday Blog Candy" once per day from now until Tuesday - the winner will be announced Wednesday morning!

Super Scrap Sunday

Well, it's not really that here, but I thought it would be a nice thought! It's more like "Super get the homework, housework, and everything ready for the work week Sunday"! Oh, and that big football game comes on today as well!
I decided to work on my honey's Valentine card while he watches the big game and works away at the computer! Oh how I love that man, he makes the world spin just a little bit easier here at our home...
This little card also follows the DCRU challenge for this week...see, it has just a touch of "sugah" (Basic Grey Sugar Rush were the color combo challenges) and uses Basic Grey Sugar Rush Products!! The tag is really something my "sugah" would say to me! I am sure with both of us working full time, having a toddler, and me in school full time taking accelerated classes, I do more than drive him a little nuts at times :o) I love you, honey!
Have a wonderful week my Bloggy Family :o)

Happy Me!

Today I am very happy! Up very early, after going to be very late, snow in the forecast (I strongly dislike snow)...but still VERY happy! You see, this week I had what I consider to be a WONDERFUL apt at my hematologist! Cleared for another 6 mos and I am praising God!
I hope to be back to our nice, warm home before the snowfall begins...hopefully we will not lose power this time and I will be able to fit in a whole lot of paper-crafting with a little bit of homework. Thankfully the housework got done last night...
This little number today follows three challenges! First - albeit very basic, is the square you see! Cindy's challenge over at Christian Paper Crafts today for Fun on Friday is all about die cutting machines. I really wanted to play along, but this card simply needed a square! I guess that goes to show you that even the simplest of functions can be done on the good ole' Cricut! Next is the ribbon! When I saw that the challenge over at Die Cuts R Us this week was to use ribbon, that had me hooked! With a little button and some jute - well, that's right up my ally (and yes, it was hard for me to NOT add lace in there somewhere!)! Lastly, this wonderful sketch is from none other than 2Sketches4You! The cardstock is Gina K, and the patterened paper is from the Blush line by Basic Grey. Wal-Mart is responsible for the silk ribbon, button and sentiment (Heart Prints Sentiments) are from PaperTrey Ink! Oh, and I used the Victoria folder to emboss my square on my cuttlebug!
Just since it's Friday, here is a little sneak peak at something special I am working on for Valentine's Day! I'll tell you more about this project NEXT Friday - which give you plenty of time to try it for Valentine's, too!
Have a wonderful weekend & God's Blessings to You,

Back in Commission!

I am so excited to be back on here! My computer battery totally wiped out earlier this week - so bad the computer would not even work with the power supply - it was almost a nightmare with school, but alas - as always, God is good and we made it through! And now, we have a new battery!
I am so thrilled that you have joined me here on my blog for Scripture Saturday! Today, I would like you to take a look at Psalm 119:103. I thought the wonderful use of the word "sweet" is a perfect compliment to the "How Sweet It Is" stamp set by Gina K that the Christian Paper Crafts Design Team has been working with this month.

To go along with the card, I also made a little loaf of blueberry bread in a mason jar - yummy yummy!

Also, I am just getting to upload my card for Die Cuts R Us this week since we have had computer woes!

Glisten...

With all of the snow that we have encountered lately, this is now my favorite kind of snow flake - FAUX and glittery! :o) Hopefully the cold, cold weather will be giving us a little break this weekend and we will see some weather in the upper 40's! Talk about a heat wave for us!
This little card is a couple of challenges rolled into one! The Jen's Color Monday over at CPC was to use Blue, Brown, and White... brrr - when those colors are together, to me they just begged for some snow flake action! And see the blue paper on there - that is some My Mind's Eye that I had leftover from Christmas projects! If you look real close, you can see that I also embossed it with a cuttlebug snowflake folder. And of course, you know I had to add in some jute and lace to go with that pearl in the center of the snowflake!I hope that you are having a wonderfully blessed day! Die Cuts R Us is having a DT call! Be sure to check it out - they are wonderful and any girl chosen there is sure to have a wonderfully blessed time!

Fabric Flowers...

I simply adore the new fabric flowers that are popping up everywhere. I don't however adore the price tag that is on the packaging of them... Being in school and having a family takes away some of the frivilous-ness, but I wouldn't have it any other way! I decided to take a shot at making my own, and I am pretty tickled with it!
The challenge over at Die Cuts R Us this week is to use the colors of the DCRU logo to make a project...what can I say - I love those colors! Great job Claudia on chosing them :o)
Have a wonderfully blessed day!

God Bless You,
