Strawberry-Banana Bread Kind of Day...

Winner!! If you are GOCANUCKS go, please send me an email to marycollins.at.windstream.net (sorry, had to type it that way to prevent spam) with your email address and name! You have won a small gift certificate to Lauren Meader's new store, My Time Made Easy!
Yumm.... Last night I baked some homemade strawberry-banana bread... so nice and fresh, we are eating this loaf without the topping :o) I guess that just means we'll have to force ourselves to make another loaf to try the topping!
Today I'm combining some challenges in my projects! First you will see my card!
This card was made with clear cardstock, PTI paper, Unity Stamp, etc... The challenge for DCRU this week is to NOT use DP or Patterned Paper. Even though it was hard, I drug out the cuttlebug and used my new floral screen folder to do a little embossing, The fabulous sketch come from the ever-so talented 2Sketches4You and the glitz and glimmer you see on the church house, well that's part of the challenge over at Christian Paper Crafts today for Fun on Friday! We have a special guest host and you'll want to click over there and find out more!!

Next is a layout that I made of my sweet little girl on Christmas morning! The layout was part of a challenge for our local scrapbook store, and the glitter that is showered about the snowflakes is for Fun on Friday today as well!
I hope you have a wonderful day and blessed weekend. My sweet hubby has minister's conference tonight, so I guess me and the little one are going to have a night to ourselves!
Don't forget to check out {Ippity} Kisses! There are some MAGNIFICENT Grand Opening Sales there and remember, this {ippity} chick does it for charity!!

So Happy For You...

Tomorrow is Valentine's Day! The little love of my life and I had a date with her daddy last night to McDonald's and a Wal-Mart trip all for her! Anytime I am excited over something, Abby is sure to be the first to tell me, I'm so happy for you, mommy! Now how sweet is that, especially coming from someone not even 3 yet! Abby girl, I am so happy for me that God blessed me to be your mommy!
It's Saturday, so you know what that means here! CASE artist Saturday and Scripture Saturday over at Christian Paper Crafts.
I used today's scripture - very Valentine's appropriate might I add :o) - "I am my beloved's..." (Song of Solomon 2:16). The page is of my wonderful hubby and I on our wedding day, and yes... I am still working on the wedding scrapbook album after all these years...or should I say I am finally working on it!
Today's CASE artist is thumbunny! I really enjoyed cruising through her gallery and making this card from one of the layouts found there!
My sweetie has to work today :o( and I have to file a complaint on eBay...the first time since I have had the account for over 7 years! Not fun at all!

God Bless You,

Fun and Fabulous 'Cause It's Friday!

I'm so excited that Friday is finally here! With snow in the middle of the week, it seems to have made this week so much longer! I thought I would be able to sneak out of "date night" tonight since I have so much homework and housework, but alas, I have been talked into it, and we agreed to a modified date night :o) Sounds like Abby is still getting her way :o)
With Valentine's Day right around the corner, have you found your sweetie something yet? My hubby's gift is hidden away, just waiting for Sunday - as is Abby's! Instead of buying candy from the store, I decided to bake up some brownies with the cutest little white chocolate chips on top and tuck them down in a pocket heart! A warm and sweet treat for these cold little days before Valentine's!

Check out today's Fun on Friday over at Christian Paper Crafts and link back there telling us about your creation :o) I decided to combine this Friday's challenge with the weekly challenge over at DCRU - to have LOVE as the theme of your project! Oh, and the paper, why that's Basic Grey Sugar Rush left over from last week! Gotta use those Valentine goodies up while you can!

God Bless You,
Mary

P.S. Don't forget that you can sign up for "Birthday Blog Candy" once per day from now until Tuesday - the winner will be announced Wednesday morning!

Right on Time, Early Preparations & A Contest!!!

For the last week I have been a little under the weather with a sinus infection...ugh! I have been very blessed to actually feel well enough to participate in today's challenge over at CPC. Fun on Friday is a challenge where you never know exactly what you are going to find - you just know it will be fun! This week's challenge was to use fabric, and I have to admit, this is the FIRST time that I can remember ever using fabric on a card! It did get me inspired though - as soon as the weather turns off cold again - my quilting supplies are coming back out and I am determined to get one of my quilts finished this winter! Pray for me in that endeavor!
Oh, and this also follows 2Sketches4You's sketch challenge this week! All cardstock is Papertrey ink, stamps are all PTI as well!
My Dad's birthday isn't until October 17th, but let me tell you, I have an awful time with manly cards... Therefore when the thought hit just right and I had the idea for this card, why I had to go ahead and make it then, or it wouldn't have gotten done :o)

I just love this embossing folder of pumpkins and vines for the cuttlebug. I think adding the distressing on there made it suite the old tractor (from SU tractor time - long ago retired - sorry) just right! The jute and button were the addition to complete the card - however I hope the button does not make it look to girly. I guess that's one good thing about making a card for your daddy - he would never say it didn't look good :o) Oh, and by the way, the tractor is red, because that's the color of my Dad's old FORD tractor! Colored with copics.
Now, here's the juicy contest details. Head over to Christian Paper Crafts and play:
We have two "challenges" of sorts with some great prizes by Our Daily Bread Designs that we'd love for you to participate in. The first is a membership drive from August 31 to September 4. Tell your friends about Christian Paper Crafts to sign up and participate. In the Referral section when they sign up, all they have to do is put your name. We will tally up the results at the end of the week and the winner will receive a newly released stamp set from Our Daily Bread Designs. The second challenge is a posting challenge that runs from September 7 through September 11. When you make comments in the gallery, this also counts as a post. Let us know what your number of posts are at the beginning of the challenge and what they are at the end of the challenge. The winner will also receive a newly released stamp set from Our Daily Bread Designs. A special board will be set up for the second challenge for you to post your starting and ending numbers. We look forward watching our community grow to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ and glorify Him in everything that we do!
As a bonus from me, if you come back here to my blog, become a follower, and leave me a comment telling me you did so, I will enter you in a random drawing for some blog candy to be given away from me in celebration of Christian Paper Crafts contests - winner will be announced on my blog Sept. 12th!!
God Bless You,

Lazy Lake Days

I have been busy as a bee so to speak working on the scrapbook I started last year of our ventures to the lake! I filled part of it up last year, but wanted to add this years photos in to make it more complete before showing my in-laws! The pages are all 8x8, so they are fun and easy to make! This year, I have been using a lot of Cosmo Cricket Early Bird paper from the kit of the month from His Princess Scrapbook Kits for my pages! It is amazing how versitile this paper is. I know that the "theme" of it is supposed to be kitchen and cooking, but just look at my lake pages - there's not a cookbook feel at all!
Found in this page, you can see the loves of my life! My wonderful hubby and sweet little daughter Abby as they are swimming in the lake!

Hey, today is Color Monday over at Christian Paper Crafts - why not go try it out!

God Bless You,

Scripture Saturday - SS002

Happy Saturday! Welcome back to Scripture Saturday here on the Softangelkisses Blog. If you have not done so yet, time is running out on the scrapbook kits at His Princess. So click on over
------------------------------>
Today's scripture is 1 Samuel 1:27. I decided to use it on a scrapbook page of my little Abby when she was a newborn. If anyone knows us, or read my blog when I was pregnant with her, then you know how we did just what the scripture says. We prayed! While pregnant with Abigail, some of my lab work kept coming back abnormal, causing me to have to go see a specialist. The visit was very scary in that they told us all the things that they believed could be wrong with our little one. We prayed and prayed and guess what? Today she is a happy, HEALTHY, 2 year old running wild through the house!
Have a wonderful day & don't forget to stop by Christian Paper Crafts leaving a link to your page with today's Scripture!

God Bless You,

And the Winner Is...

Certainly not me for being so late in posting...but the winner was Lisa! I had the pleasure of hand delivering her gift to her! I'm not sure what all was in it, but even though the blog had not been updated, the prize bag grew! I hope she likes it. You can check out her blog by clicking on her name.

No crafty things today - maybe after this weekend - my little one turns 2 tomorrow ;) That means our weekend will be full of food, party, and joy!

Finally Friday

Sorry about the absence yesterday. We still do not have electricity since a storm a couple of nights ago and as you know - no electricity - no Internet!

Here is my creation to show you though. Remember the mailbox I made a couple of weeks ago? Well, the more I looked at it, the less I liked it! So I tore it apart and made this instead! She seemed to really like it ;) I don't think she looked inside and found the sweet tarts though - that will be a surprise later! The paper is all Laundry Line by My Minds Eye and the Stamps are Love Song from Paper Trey Ink.

Here is the goodie going into the gift box for today!!

Day #2

Here we are at the second day of the week long blog birthday celebration and getting ready to add something else to the gift box. Needless to say, I must work on the paper now, but I do have time to share goodie number 2!

A bottle of Martha Stewart glitter! (The glue for the glitter will come with this - it's just not in the picture!!) Remember to play, you just have to chose to follow my blog then you may enter daily! I will draw a winner on Monday the 16th! P.S. i know the picture is sideways - - sorry ;)

Candy, Candy, Candy!!!

Today's blog must be all about the candy! And the best part is, no weight gain from this kind!
First of all, here is my card that fits both the CPS card challenge and the Paper Trey Ink Best Friend card challenge. The card is for my mom and she is my best friend because she is always there for me and loves me unconditionally. She is such a wonderful mom to me, wife to my dad, and "mam' to my little girl. I know, I used Swiss dots...AGAIN and the PTI Heart Prints...AGAIN!

Now to start off the blog birthday week - here is the first piece of candy that is going into the box - chipboard coasters! The possibilities with these are endless. Everyday I will be adding something else into the box all the way until next Monday, then I will use random number generator to give us a number. Enter every day for a better shot at winning! To enter - just chose to follow me, then leave a comment letting me know... That way when the winner is chosen, I can easily go to your info and let you know!!

Oh and the 2 Sketches Blog is having an Eye Candy for Blog Candy Contest...well, take a look at this eye candy I saw this weekend:

(YES, my hubby knows I posted Toby Keith for my eye candy!!)
