Woot Woot

I received my grade back from my Statistics midterm and found out I scored 95%!  So excited :o)  Now if the rest of the class goes that good I will be all set!
This week's Fun on Friday over at Christian Paper Crafts is to make something with a monogram.  I decided to make this little number for my home office following the sketch from 2Sketches4You this week:

(Paper: PaperTreyInk, Cosmo Cricket - Girl Friday; Ink: Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist, Distress Ink - Tea Stain; Accessories: glitter letter, ribbon, lace)
Next up is a card I made for MOJO Monday and Digi Doodle Shop - just getting some MOJO on with my scraps, LOL!

(Paper: PaperTreyInk, BoBunny - Peacock, Stamps: Ippity - What Matters Most; Ink: Momento - Rich Cocoa, Distress Ink - Tea Stain; Accessories: Copics, ribbon, cuttlebug embossing folder, pearls, jute, button)
And last but not least, I made a scrapbook page for Scrappin' Silhouettes:

(Paper: BoBunny, Misc; Accessories: lace, Cork, Prima Flower)
I just loved our fun time at VBS!  The top pic is me with my Teen Class and the lower one is my hubby and me covered in shaving cream on the day of the VBS Party!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Jam Packed

Happy Saturday!  I am so blessed to be sitting here in my office this morning typing to such lovely visitors like you!  If this is your first time stopping by, I sure hope you enjoy yourself and if you like what you see, please click and follow me!!
*I finally posted my Copic Certification badge on my blog thanks to a sweet reminder from an encouraging friend!  :)*
Today over at Christian Paper Crafts is Scripture Saturday and CASE Artist Saturday!  Our Scripture for today is Luke 6:19 and a decided to make an Artist Trading Card (ATC) for my stand that I keep on my desk at work!  I am loving how it turned out so cute and shabby :o)
I used PaperTreyInk cardstock and designer paper, buttons, twine, Tim Hotz Distress Ink in Tea Stain, a Zig Marker to write the Scripture with and last but most certainly not least, I spritzed some Tattered Angels glimmer mist on what was white lace for the trim!  Almost everything on the card was run through the cuttlebug with the Swiss Dots folder and I distressed the edges on the small button holder squares to rough them up a tad!  Such a sweet Sketch from SplitCoast Stampers could not be passed up, so I had to try it out on here!

Next up - CASE Artist Saturday!  Today is the last day for CASE Artist Saturday, but don't be sad, that's 'cause we're moving to Wednesday!  Starting Wednesday the 23rd, we will be WAC or Wednesday Case Artist, or "Hump Day Cards" LOL
I used PaperTreyInk Cardstock and Cosmo Cricket designer paper from the Early Bird Line!  A little lace, some jute, a button, some pearls - all those were the frosting :o)  The stamped image is from the Ippity stamps by Unity and colored with Copics!  A fiskars punch was the perfect addition to the side panel to give it some pizzas and I rounded the corners of the card just to be a little different!

I hope you have a wonderful Saturday!

God Bless You,
Mary

Scrapping Sweets

The month of January is quickly coming to an end, but we have had so much fun playing with GinaK goodies at Christian Paper Crafts.
When it comes to Valentine's this year - why not think of someone other than your normal sweetheart? My favorite scrapbooking buddy is my mom - and what scrapbooker wouldn't think this kind of candy is not better than chocolate?
The box is a timeless template purchased at PaperTreyInk and the stamp is Gina K from the Festive Labels collection. The small pillow box of buttons is also from Gina K and can together with scrap paper to make a small gift. All the fabric flowers are handmade by me.
Well, I must run - it will be a long day at work with an evening meeting and snow on the way tomorrow! I'm happy to say that next week I hope to have my new blog more up and running and be more recovered from the battery issue :o)!
God Bless You,

Back in Commission!

I am so excited to be back on here! My computer battery totally wiped out earlier this week - so bad the computer would not even work with the power supply - it was almost a nightmare with school, but alas - as always, God is good and we made it through! And now, we have a new battery!
I am so thrilled that you have joined me here on my blog for Scripture Saturday! Today, I would like you to take a look at Psalm 119:103. I thought the wonderful use of the word "sweet" is a perfect compliment to the "How Sweet It Is" stamp set by Gina K that the Christian Paper Crafts Design Team has been working with this month.

Pin It

To go along with the card, I also made a little loaf of blueberry bread in a mason jar - yummy yummy!

Also, I am just getting to upload my card for Die Cuts R Us this week since we have had computer woes!

Knock Your Socks Off...

Good morning! I am so glad this week seems to be going by fast! I simply cannot wait for the weekend to be able to do some more Christmas decorating at my house! I simply must wrap some packages to get them out of my closet, but finding a way to keep my little one out of them is going to be the task!
I am so honored that Unity is our sponsor over at Christian Paper Crafts this month! If you have not tried them out, I highly recommend them! The Unity Kit of the Month is something I just recently began receiving as a monthly treat from my husband. With so much going on in life, it is a nice little break in the day when I go home to see that yellow envelope filled with a brown bag of goodies has arrived! The Unity KOMs are not very expensive compared to many other "kit clubs" and is a great way to keep getting new goodies! Going to the store, I know I would be tempted to purchase so much more that I would never use!This first card is made From Simple Blessings - a stamp set the DT was given to use and create with! The first thing you probably notice about this card is - it's simple! The reason being, I have had many, many people tell me they would like to try crafting or card making but it is just too complex once they look at the creations of others. I like to gently remind people that God made us all just the way He wants us. He will continually mold us and shape us in everything we do, and that all paper-crafters had to start somewhere. It's nice to go back to simple cards every now and again! On this card I used some Brown paper from PTI as my cardstock base, some purple Post-It Craft paper (love this stuff), kraft cardstock, jute, button, and Close to My Heart inks! I did run the Post It Craft paper through my cuttlebug and distressed the edges. You know what - it did great! Now this little number is made from my Unity October Kit of the Month and you can still purchase it here. As soon as I saw this little sock-monkey appear on my screen during the time of preview for the Kit of the Month, I fell in love with him! Trust me, if I had time, there would be people on my Christmas list getting homemade sock monkeys just so I could make a gift tag out of this little guy :o) What I did though was something still along the line of socks, in that I altered a clear little paint tin ready to hold some new warm, fuzzy socks! It will be the packaging for my gift at our Ladies Auxiliary Christmas swap. You know - you always get invited to these parties where you are to take a x dollar amount gift. Sometimes it is so hard to find something, but I know the little fuzzy socks will meet the price and put a smile on someones face!
Head on over to Christian Paper Crafts and see what all is being created with Unity this month. You can also find us in the SplitCoastStampers gallery keyword CPCUnityNov09. Have a wonderful day!

Gift Giving Made(a little) Easy (ier)!

Welcome everyone! Today I wanted to share with you how this wonderful paper by 3M has allowed me to stay on top of gift giving. If you are like me, I always want to give a gift, and would prefer it be homemade, but often do not have the time and at the last minute end up going to purchase something store bought and overpriced! I decided to make up some altered journals in my spare time in the craft room to have on hand for gifting. Once an occasion arises, I simply dash to the cricut and cut out a monogram with my 3M Post It paper, peel and stick! Instantly ready for gifting. Seriously - no having to wait for glue to dry, worrying about making a mess, etc!
I love it and hope you do to!
God Bless You!

3M Post It Paper!!

Good Thursday morning! I have had the wonderful experience of being on the Christian Paper Crafts Design Team and just got to work with my first vendor product. I have to say, this paper is AWESOME and I am sure paper crafters of all sorts are going to fall in love.
Normally, I am a scrapbook kind of girl. Give me a product and I'll give you back a page, but today I wanted to spice things up a bit! Using the 3M Post It crafting papers, I creating letters on the cricut using the Storybook cartridge for the front of my mommy's choir book at church. You can see the project in the Christian Paper Crafts gallery by clicking here, or the description over on Christian Paper Crafts by clicking here.

Have a wonderfully blessed day and remember that God Loves You!

Remembering Crop!

Our Relay for Life Crop was so fun and such a success, I find myself still missing it :o( Thankfully, I have been asked to do more, I guess sort of mini-crops in the near future!! Everyone loved the workshop and I hope to keep coming up with more and more! The money is going to such a good cause, and the fellowship is priceless! This is a little clear paint tin that I altered and added the door prize in - Tim Holtz scissors! Now anyone who has tried these knows why they are a real prize! The stamp set used was Unity!
Oh, and if you have not checked out the blog Joy~n~Jesus, what are you waiting for! I am adding a permanent link to her on my sidebar for your future reference! :o)
God Bless You & Happy Monday,

Friday...Friday

Wow! It seems as if this week has taken forever to crawl by for me... How about you? My wonderful hubby and I have been praying about a big decision, so perhaps that is why it has went so much slower. It is so much easier to give others advice to "pray and listen to God, just do what He wants you to do", then it is to use the advice yourself. Thankfully I know that all things are possible through Christ who strengthens me (Phil. 4:13) and have to remind myself that I must decrease for Him to increase (paraphrase of John 3:30). Please keep us in your prayers.
Moving on to a little craftiness in the world :o) Nothing takes your mind off of "other" stuff and helps me to relax than being surrounded by my paper! It's my me time, well, my Me & God time, really!
On to explain the photo at the top! I apologize in advance that these are not great photos - I took them (too) early this morning! You see, my laundry room is...well... it's just not right! I mean - the size of it is odd, the layout is odd, and it also doubles as my pantry... Trust me - weird! It is the only room in the house with paneling, too! I know - weird! I never could bring myself to spend money to decorate in there because - I just plain don't like the room... So, I found some frog material at Wal-Mart and decided I would make frog curtains since they would be relatively cheap. The collection began and now, there are frogs sitting on the hot water heater, etc... And you wanna know something else - I don't like frogs in real life!!
When I saw these little white frames, I knew I had to do F (fully) R (rely) O (on) G (God) with them for my laundry room!
Fun on Friday over at Christian Paper Crafts today is to use an animal in your project! I hope this fits the bill! Come play along - there are no time limits, just have fun and glorify the Lord!
I made this little number for a Housewarming Shower. If you look closely, you will see that the verse is none other than the Fruits of the Spirit from Galatians! How appropriate since I used the lovely fruit stamps from PaperTrey Ink. The paper is a bit from the BoBunny Recipe collection, and the label shape was done with my nestabilities and cuttlebug! The ribbon, jute, and lace are all items I already had in my stash! I hope that you enjoyed looking and perhaps even take some inspiration to do your own handmade gifts.I have a new thread started over at Christian Paper Crafts titled Cheap-O's Gather Here!!! If you click on the title, it will take you right to the link. It's my hope that this thread will become a resource for homemade/handmade gift ideas for those budgeting for Christmas, but still wanting to share in the joy of giving. Please stop by and leave some ideas. If you have not registered, it is all free and fun fun fun!!

God Bless You,

Remember...

The first thing I would like to do today is ask everyone to remember the HEROS of September 11th, those who were lost that day and those who are still fighting for our freedom. May God Bless.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Today's project is a replacement for Sunday's post which did not end up happening. Keeping with the theme of Sunday school Teachers Appreciation, and since the challenge over at Stampin Sisters in Christ is to thank teachers....
I give you framed art and a card! Now in the framed art you will see small writing, it really isn't that small in real life, but it is the Beatitudes. I think this would look great in a Sunday School room that uses bright colors, as all the papers are from Cosmo Cricket Early Bird, except the cardstock which is from Papertrey Ink.
The card is made from scraps left over after the framed art was made! Although I had originally intended this for my Sunday School room, I have decided to place it in a pile for when our Sunday School rooms at church are redecorated! I will let someone else have it for their class since the colors are not what I picked out for my paint :o) And with a 2Sketches4You challenge as the layout of the card - why not add it on there too!
And since it is Friday - how about an extra card for good measure! The sketch from this one comes from the wonderful Card Positioning Systems Blog! And you know what else? It is the first time I have used my sewing machine on a card!!!! I love the result, even for a first attempt!
Have a wonderful weekend and God Bless You. Don't forget to stop back by tomorrow for Scripture Saturday and CASE artist Saturday! You also don't want to miss the last of the prizes going on at Christian Paper Crafts all this week!!
Mini Monday
Wouldn’t that be a great concept? I cannot complain though. I had an awesome answer to prayer a couple of Monday’s ago when the Dr’s office called and told me there was no need for me to even show up at my appointment to have them see me! They did not see a reason that I needed to be there based on the review of my lab work – Praise the Lord! Today’s project however is a Mini Album for the August Challenge of the Month over at Christian Paper Crafts. Since I am really not into making small cards, because I find that I do not use them, I wanted to go the scrapbook route of this challenge. Also, I needed to be getting ahead on some upcoming holidays since I am in school, and what better way than to play along and get things accomplished! Double the fun! This mini album is for my dear friend Kara. It is of the vacation that she, her husband, and their little girl took this summer. I was able to get hold of some of her pictures without her knowing and plan to surprise her for her birthday with this. Unless she accidently stumbles upon my blog and sees today (-I really don’t think that will happen though)! If so *waves – hi Kara*!
Papers are Cosmo Cricket from the Early Bird line – still some left at His Princess Scrapbook Kits if you are interested. Mini album and ring also from His Princess Scrapbook Kits. Other items used in the album are just little somethings I found lying around the scrapbook area!
I hope that you have a wonderful day! I have my Diabetes Support Group to teach tonight – so it will be a L-O-N-G day for me!
Make Your Requests Known to God
In the book of Philippians, chapter 4, we are told to make our requests known to God. Our church, like most other churches do, has a prayer list sitting in the foyer for people to list their requests on. The list was always on a clipboard to make it easier to keep up with. However, since I have started reading more about Spiritual Gifts lately, I decided to share my gift of paper-crafting with the church, since it is from God in the first place! I placed the new Prayer Request Clipboard on the desk in the foyer just yesterday.
I used papers from Hobby Lobby, Mod Podge, & Tim Holtz distressing ink!
Don't forget that tomorrow is Color Monday over at Christian Paper Crafts! Come join us!
Prayer Box
A challenge over at CPC was to make a Prayer Journal. Since the journal idea was not working out too good for what I wanted, I decided to do a Prayer box instead, using one of the Timeless Templates by Lauren Meader... I also made little dividers to separate everything - I divided it into Scripture, Petition, Praise, and Goals!
I highly recommend this for anyone to do. It is really helping my with my prayer life more than I thought it would! Don't forget to check out all the fun things happening over at the CPC website!!
Half-Dozen Paperclips & a Princess
I am so ticked with how these turned out! :o) They are altered paperclips for a swap that I was in on a scrapbooking message board. This will be my last swap there, as I feel the Lord is leading me in another direction for now. I sure hope everyone enjoys these. My themes were girly/feminine (the black and red in the background) and Memorial/Veteran's Day (the rustic star with button and jute in the foreground).
I really enjoy using these and giving them as Bible bookmarks. They are great for your Bible, or if they will not fit in your Bible case, good for any other book that you may be studying/reading. I made my mom one of each of these two! She truly is a gift from God as she watches the "princess" almost daily as I work. Speaking of which, here is little Princess in her royal outfit:
Aren't you glad that as Christians we are able to all be the Princess since our Heavenly Father is the King of Kings!
Finally Friday
Sorry about the absence yesterday. We still do not have electricity since a storm a couple of nights ago and as you know - no electricity - no Internet!
Here is my creation to show you though. Remember the mailbox I made a couple of weeks ago? Well, the more I looked at it, the less I liked it! So I tore it apart and made this instead! She seemed to really like it ;) I don't think she looked inside and found the sweet tarts though - that will be a surprise later! The paper is all Laundry Line by My Minds Eye and the Stamps are Love Song from Paper Trey Ink.
Here is the goodie going into the gift box for today!!
God Bless You,
Mary
